The Suite Life of Rob and Becky

We arrived in Illinois today with the goal to pick out our new house!!! We made it here with no problems, except for the fact that we left Rob's briefcase, with his laptop and our camera, sitting on a curb in a St. Louis parking garage. No big deal at all, of course......Yeah......And no big deal that we left it in the most crime ridden city in the nation (just passed up Detriot......congrats St. Louis!) Hmmm, like I said no big deal.

Anyway, despite the fact that we didn't realize it was gone until we had almost reached the Illinois state line and despite the fact that we left it in the ghetto we were blessed and some good samaritan found it and took it straight to the airport police. We were able to pick it up right away and only lost about an hour of travel time.

We made it to our hotel and we were greeted with this in the lobby:

The kids loved it and it made my day too. We were also very happy because they had upgraded our hotel room to a suite!! Last time we stayed at this hotel, we were in a room with water leaking from the roof. We called them and told them about it and asked them for a new room. They just came and just moved our beds and swore up and down that all of their rooms were full. It started leaking more and more throughout the day and by the nightime it was incredibly wet and incredibly loud from all of the dripping. I went to the lobby and threw a fit and miraculously (cue angelic music) they had JUST had a room open up at 2 in the morning. How wonderful. Anyway, long story short, they owed us something for our next trip.

The kids loved taking a bath in the huge whirlpool tub:

It's not much, but it made our day much better because we felt like we go something extra. Score for the Mehls!!!

We'll try to keep you posted on our house hunting advertures during the week, if I am not stricken blind by the overzealous use of faux wood paneling, bad 80's flashback wallpaper and American flag wall borders that seem to abound in these parts. Pray for me.
